A vineyard in Winter has a still, comtemplative beauty and now when its heavy skies are almost behind us we are looking forward to the optimism, growth and warmth of Springtime.

Hello friends, welcome back! We’re back with another update for you on life and times on our Eridge vineyard, so make yourself comfortable, it’s fika time.

We have mentioned bee those winter jobs that have to be taken care of in the vineyard: The last time we wrote, we were were about to start the biggest one – winter pruning. But I’m very pleased to report that that’s all been successfully completed now, thanks to our small and so skilful pruning team.

In the photograph here, as well as Smilla keeping ‘guard’, we can see people hard at work doing the next job, tying down the vines ahead of the new growth, before the buds start to show. And next week we move on to mulching..

And jumping from the begnning of the process in the vineyard, to the other end of the jouney – the wonderful point of consumption, glass in hand. We love to update you on the new places you can enjoy our sparlking wine, and one in partiuclar stands out this month.

Upstairs at The George, officially opened this month in Fitzrovia, and our sparkling wine is included in their fabulously curated collection of English wines. The place looks amazing – one for your list of new places to visit this Sprin. And if you don’t have a list – start one!

Once again we have been fortunate to get another excellent write up from well known wine presenter and journalist Olly Smith, and were in his list of recommendations for Valentine’s Day in the Mail on Sunday Magazine; just look at that quote!

In terms of future wine releases, last week we had an important tasting session to decide on the blends for our 2021 vintage, the base wines for which were tasting great – but of course you’ll have to wait until 2024 for those.

Right, that is all from us for now; we hope that your weekend was releaxed and comfy as our Brut bottle looks here in this photo – and see you next time.

Skål! Susanna & Douglas
