Stay up to date with our latest news and offers
Hello friends, and welcome once again, we hope that you are very well. We’re here with another diary entry for you on life and times at our Eridge vineyard, so make yourself comfortable, it’s fika time.
This is the time of year that the vines start to look like they are very serious about growth, and producing another harvest of beautiful and high quality fruit – it’s so exciting.
In general terms, June is a month of very active growth and early fruit development here, and our focus is on ensuring successful fruit set and maintaining vine health, done through a combination of careful canopy, pest, and nutrient management.
But of course we also take time out to show lovely people around the vineyard and open some bottles too. Here you can see a recent visiting group from our friends SveaBritt, a network organisation for professional Swedish Women in the UK. There is a nice video of their visit on our Instagram.
In press terms it was lovely to see us appearing recently in a piece by Iris Fabre in The Drinks Business entitled Top 10 wines to try for English Wine Week’. Both our Blanc de Noirs and Blanc de Blancs was on the list! You can read the piece here.
With all this great coverage, now could be a great time to stock up your cellar for the Summer, and to mark ten years of our vineyard, we invite you to join in our celebration with an exclusive offer just for our email subscribers. We’re offering a sparkling 25% discount on a Summer Celebration 6-case of our finest wines, plus free shipping to the UK mainland. Simply use the code CELEBRATEWINES at checkout on our website.
Now we have some good news if you like the idea of joining us for a delightful East Sussex tour and sparkling wine tasting, because we are hosting another of our Wine Tasting & Vineyard Walks soon, and we would love to see you.
The date is Sunday 14th July, so come and immerse yourself in the beauty of this vineyard, learn about our award winning wines and more. Don’t miss this rare opportunity. Click through here to Eventbrite to find out more and book your place. We hope to welcome you in July!
Finally for this time, we have had some more lovely medal newws – on this occasion from English wine’s indpendent IEWA competition, whose judges awarded a Silver Medal to Blanc de Blancs 2018 – our debut in this style of Sparkling wine, crafted from 100% Chardonnay grapes. Some nice tasting notes coming back too, including:
“Some really lovely delicate, expressive, elegant fruit and autolytic flavours, with a long finish… Acidity is structured but in check – drinking well now and that punchy acidity means to should keep well too… Exciting example of an English BdB. Clean and rich, with saline note.”
This is all from us this time, so eat and drink well and we will see you again very soon.
