At this time of year our vines wait at the starting line of the vintage like marathon runners, poised – awaiting the incredible outpourring of energy and the beautiful drama of the growing season… and in this moment the estate has begun to burst into flower.

Hello friends, and welcome once again, we hope that you are very well. We’re here with another diary entry for you on life and times at our Eridge vineyard, so make yourself comfortable, it’s fika time.

It’s important to us that each month we give you a little insight into what is happening out among the vines, because it’s the centre of our family’s life here on the wine estate. That said, there are times of the year where there are less things to report!

But while the vines wait just a short time longer for the temperature to rise a further and their life-giving sap to start flowing, the flowers have decided that it’s now time, with white and yellow bursts of colour have started to open everywhere, a very pretty scene.

As for our “magnificent” wines, we were thrilled to receive some more lovely press coverage this month, this time from wine columnist Rob Buckhaven in The Metro newspaper, where he complimented our bottle presentation – as well as the wonderful wines inside! “These bottles look High-Lux from a mile away, so imagine my delight when the wines proved just as magnificent!.”

Who is feeling hungry? Well our deliciously tempting food pairing series returns, and this one is perfect for an indulgent late lunch or a Springtime party starter: Pan fried king prawns with garlic butter, paired with our gold medal winning Brut 2019. Now we have some exciting launch news… We have a new sparkling wine release ready for you very soon! The 2018 vintage in England is accepted as being the best ever, and since that time our Blanc de Blancs – 100% Chardonnay – has been gradually working its magic, carefully developing in the bottle. And it’s finally very close to being ready! We launch in June, and cannot wait to share this wine with you.

And now we have some new surroundings where you can enjoy our wines. You can find our Sparkling Rosé down by the water in central Bristol, at the eye-catching The Achitect. It’s an Art Deco café bar with a European feel, on the historic harbour. ‘The cosy bar brings a sophisticated and glamorous 1930s style to the bustling harbour side’. Perfect!
