The festive season is here, and for us there is a special sense of satisfaction in imagining our cherished community uncorking the magic of this time of year with Busi Jacobsohn sparkling wines – as we will of course be doing!

Hello friends, and welcome once again, we hope that you are very well. We’re here with another diary entry for you on life and times at our Eridge vineyard, so make yourself comfortable, it’s fika time.

Our usual vineyard update this time will be remarkably brief, because everything has been put to sleep for Winter. The vines lost all of their leaves long ago, and the brown spindly vines stand to quiet attention, wating for their seasonal pruning which we will begin in January. But as you can see, the colours of the vineyard and the big skies above remain beautiful. You can see here frost on the ground, but we have not had much of that so far – this will change in January.

At this time of year the major newspapers and wine magazines all tend to print pieces recommending the best fizz for the festive season, and we have had the great thrill of appearing in not just one – but two of them.

Absolutely wonderful for our Sparkling Rosé 2019 to be included in a piece by Victoria Moore in The Telegraph entitled ‘The Best Champagne, English Sparkling Wine and other fizz for Christmas. “Pure Class” it concluded – you can read the full quote here.  And in Decanter Magazine Sylia Wu named our Blanc de Blancs 2018 as one of the best English wines to try this Christmas, awarding a 93 point score.
