From Flowering to Harvest 🍇
What a season it has been in the vineyard!
From flowering right through to harvest, we have been blessed with sun and warmth. We know this weather hasn’t been kind to every farmer, but for our vineyard, the conditions have been fantastic. The vines have been happy, growth has been excellent, and everything has been wonderfully easy to maintain. At times, it almost felt like being on holiday — although we were still here every day looking after the vines!
And then came Harvest. Picking the grapes under beautiful blue skies was a real treat. The grapes looked smashing and, even better, they tasted smashing too!
We harvested almost four weeks earlier than normal, which shows just how much the vines have enjoyed the season. Now the grapes are safely in the tanks maturing.
Three Grapes – Three Still Wines –
One Sussex vienyard
Busi Jacobsohn is best known for its traditional-method sparkling wines, but the 2025 vintage brings us to an exciting new chapter: three still wines showcasing our estate’s three principal varieties. This is more than simply three wines from the same vintage. Busi Jacobsohn is deliberately showing the three Champagne grapes varieties as individual still wines made from small parcel of our Burgundy clones.
Rosé de Meunier 2025 — 100% Pinot Meunier, pale, fresh and vibrant, with tart red berries, raspberry and subtle creamy notes.
Chardonnay 2025 — dry, mineral and finely textured, with fresh acidity, delicate fruit and a lightly grippy finish.
Pinot Noir 2025 — bright and elegant, showing forest berries and cherry, with refreshing acidity and a dry finish.
Three different expressions of Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, united by the freshness and character of their Sussex vineyard.
Tastings all summer looong
It’s been, as always, so amazing to meet all the wonderful people who’ve come to taste our wines and take a walk through the vineyard this summer.
We’ve loved sharing the vines, the wines, and a little bit of what goes on behind the scenes — and hearing your stories along the way.
Thank you to everyone who has joined us. We’ve had such a lovely summer welcoming you to the vineyard.
Busi Jacobsohn tastings and vineyard walks is with bespoke bookings and start around May/ June until harvest. Minimum 6 people, just send us an email next year.
Here is round 2 of Oz & Tom’s English Wine Heroes, tasting our Cuvee;’ Brut 2021. The second video, is live on our Instagram. We hope you’ll take a look and hear what they had to say.
A good time to enjoy Busi Jacobsohn Cuvée Brut 2021 is when you want something elegant, refreshing and celebratory without needing a special occasion, any time and any place.
Tom & Oz’s tasting notes:
Golden straw colour – anticipation of lovely bread maturity in the making. A fresh, tense aromatic lemon peel and white apple flesh lead this serious, contemplative sparkling wine. Dry, stoney mineralogy at it’s core. Long creamy finish.
Wine of the week
What an honour to be at Corkk and our Blanc de Blanc chosen as wine of the week in August. Corkk describes itself as an English-wine specialist, selecting wines tasted by Master of Wine Clive Barlow. https://www.corkk.co.uk/rtw
We simply had to share one more exciting piece of news. Oles Bodega in Sandefjord, Norway now serving Cuvee’ Brut 2021.
Silver Award at IEWA 2026
As autumn arrives, the vineyard settles into its seasonal rhythm. Thank you for being part of our journey — here’s to crisp days, cosy evenings and a glass of English wine.
