With ancestral roots from Piemonte, Italy and Kefalonia in Greece, Susanna has a diverse cultural background, with a taste for good wine and food. Susanna began her career in the fashion business and later became a stay at home mom. Susanna then progressed to a Life Coach profession and studied at Nordic School of Feng Shui. She has other interests in art, painting, design and now the vineyard. Susanna has enjoyed taking a key role in the successful branding and design of the tasting room and wine estate.
Douglas, husband to Susanna, was brought up in Sweden, from a young age he’d enjoy listening to business talks over the breakfast table. Douglas spent most of his career in the marine insurance business, but always loved the thought of owning a farm. This passion for the country air felt a perfect fit with the vineyard and he has since gone on a journey to create the wines that truly reflect the terroir and his and Susanna’s style and attitude to life.
The eldest of the 2 sons is a tinkerer. Following studying Psychology at university, he’s thoroughly enjoyed being involved in the vineyard work – if time allows and plays a vital role, particularly during harvesting. Charles has now moved on to work as a detective in London. Charles like his mother is a keen foodie and talented in the kitchen so wine is high on his agenda.
The youngest in the team, has a number of interests including sport, design, photography and diving. After completing his studies in Design and Technology at Loughborough University, he then went on to be a diver at a marine research station in Seychelles. He has now left the vineyard to work in the Yachting Industry but is always keen to give a hand when harvest comesTom’s strong views of design and branding have influenced much of the creative work of the Busi Jacobsohn brand.
Our new little black and silver mini-schnauzer is now alone as vineyard dog here at the vineyard. She has now taken over some of Lunas jobs like protect the vineyard from deer and pheasants.
We had great time with her for 8 years and being a herding dog she took guarding the grapes and rest of our estate very seriously. She is of course missed by the family and very much by Smilla
Our forever much loved black mini-schnauzer, who was born in Sweden 2009, has went for a walk in the clouds, always in our hearts. He was our first vineyard dog and did of course teach Luna a lot what is expected of a vineyard dog. Very much missed by us all.
